Publishing Internship

The publishing intern will assist in the production of the Phoenix Suns' web site and print publications. Direct responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Obtaining photos and writing editorial for community newsletter.
• Conducting and transcribing interviews with players, coaches and staff for use in Suns game-night program and electronic publications.
• Proof reading materials for publication.
• Assisting with various Suns.com projects, including live chats, auctions and contests.

• Good writing, editing and communication skills required. A journalism or web background with 1-2 years experience in writing, editing or related position preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Phoenix Suns basketball required.
• Good working knowledge of the Internet.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
• High level of organizational ability with an emphasis on meeting tight deadlines and working with a variety of projects simultaneously.

Marketing Internship

General Responsibilities:

• Working with Corporate Sales Department to fulfill corporate sponsorship agreements
• Assisting with basketball clinics, open practices and appearances for Suns players, the Suns Gorilla and/ The Suns Dance Team
• Working on sponsor related promotions both in the office and on game days.
• Assisting in the correspondence and communication with corporate sponsors.
• Working all game nights, assisting with selecting contestants, getting props for any sponsor related promotion to tunnel, and helping with executing in-game promotions.
• Maintaining inventory of sponsorship items.
• Other duties as assigned

Candidates must be able to work every game night in addition to 15-20 hours per week around school schedule. The internship pays $7.00 per hour and professional dress is needed for game days.
